EDUCATION:

In this position, the Senior Mechanical Designer will be responsible to:
- Assess, prioritize, analyze and execute themselves or through other designers in a timely and responsive manner all incoming projects.
- Work with the Sales team and the Production team to advise on issues and progress.
- Produce engineered drawings using available resources (typically AutoCAD 2D).
- Manage workflow for themselves and the design team in an effective and organized manner.
- Maintain a courteous, respectful and positive demeanor towards customers, employees and vendors.
- Immediately report difficulties, problems or errors to Management for discussion, correction and improvement.
- Continuously learn about the products, data, selection tools and software, and their applications.
- Attend site visits to assess and assist sales in providing custom (and turnkey) solutions to customers.
- Attend supplier and vendor locations for quality assurance visits as required.
Daily tasks:
- Manage all incoming engineering projects. Assess to ensure viability, identify potential issues and communicate with relevant team members in a timely manner.
- Work closely with sales and production to ensure the project is designed as quoted and at/or under budget.
- Effectively communicating needs and details to other members of the team.
- Must be able to prioritize work and manage working multiple projects simultaneously.
- Attend site meetings with clients and consultants and work on turn-key solutions (from conception to installation).
- Attend fabrication and quality assurance meetings with fabricators as required.
- Learn and continue developing current products, selection programs, and business development.
- Foster and maintain a safe, courteous and professional working environment both in and out of the office.

Technical / Architectural / Mechanical Draftsperson

Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D is essential.
Preference is given to candidates experienced in mechanical drafting and/or architectural drafting.
3D CAD experience is not required but would be an asset.
In this position, the Draftseperson will be responsible to:
- Assess, prioritize, analyze and execute AutoCAD drawings and a bill of materials (BOM) in a timely and responsive manner for all incoming projects assigned to them.

- Assess, prioritize, analyze and estimate in a timely and responsive manner all incoming Requests for Quotation (RFQ) assigned.
- Retain a maximum 8-hour response time, whether by completion of quotation or notification of delay.
- Work with Production manager to advise customer of expected delivery.
- Produce quotations using available resources.
- Manage workflow in an effective and organized manner.
- Maintain a courteous, respectful and positive demeanor towards customers and employees.
- Immediately report difficulties, problems or errors to Management for discussion, correction and improvement.
- Continuously learn about the products, data, selection tools and software, and their applications.
- Attend site visits and provide turnkey solutions to the clients.
Daily tasks:
- Manage all incoming RFQs. Assess the RFQ to ensure suitability, reply in a timely manner, analyze the data, design a solution, cost the solution, and draft and send the proposal.
- Work closely with design and project management to ensure the project is designed as per quote and at/or under budget.
